Join us as we celebrate Willie Nelsons' 80th birthday with performing host John Carter Cash. John Carter Cash, having been involved in music all his life, spends much of his time working as a record producer. He is also a singer-songwriter, and author. The grandchild of Maybelle Carter and the only son to Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, he preserves the family legacy and is caretaker to the heritage of his musical ancestors. He began his work as a music producer with his mother June Carter Cash on her CD, Press On, which won a Grammy in 1999, then went on to work under Rick Rubin as Associate Producer on his father Johnny Cash's Grammy winning records "American III: Solitary Man" and "American IV: The Man Comes Around", the latter receiving three CMA awards.
He also produced his mother's record "Wildwood Flower", which won a Grammy for Best Traditional Folk album in 2003. His 2004 production "Unbroken Circle: The Musical Heritage of the Carter Family" received three Grammy nominations. John Carter is co-Producer on Marty Stuart's CD, Badlands. The CD "The Voice of the Spirit, the Gospel of the South" released in April of 2006, received critical regard and acclaim. His production on Billy Joe Shaver's "Everybody's Brother", helped earn a Grammy nomination in 2007.

John Carter has produced material for Loretta Lynn, Josh Turner, Brooks & Dunn, Elvis Costello, Wylie and the Wild West, Dr. Ralph Stanley, George Jones, Mavis Staples, Lynda Carter, The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Sheryl Crow, John Randal and Jessi Alexander, Norman and Nancy Blake, Tim O' Brien, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Kris Kristofferson, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Earl and Randy Scruggs, Rosanne Cash, John Cowan, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, Tony Rice, and John Prine. In total, he has been a producer on five Grammy Award winning records.

John Carter's first CD of his own music titled "Bitter Harvest" was released only to the international market in 2003. His latest CD, entitled "The Family Secret", is available everywhere and received a three starred review in Rolling Stone. He is the author of three children's books, "Momma Loves Her Little Son", "Daddy Loves His Little Girl", and his latest release, "The Cat in the Rhinestone Suit." He authored a biography on his mother, "Anchored in Love" (on which a film is currently in production) and one on his personal relationship with his father, "House of Cash: The Legacies of My Father Johnny Cash". His first novel, a fantasy titled "Lupus Rex", is released June of 2013.
 John Carter Cash owns and operates Cash Productions, LLC and the Cash Cabin Studio near Nashville, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He is the father to three children, Anna Maybelle Cash, Joseph John Cash, and youngest, Jack Ezra Cash.

He is a Grammy Award winner, a 12 time winner of the Academy of Country Music Guitarist of the Year Award and a two time winner of the CMA Award Musician of the Year. He has been named as one of the top ten session guitarists in the world joining the ranks of Jimmy Page, Larry Carlton, Tommy Tedesco and Steve Cropper. He is an American session guitarist and occasional songwriter. He is known primarily for his work in the field of country music. In addition to releasing two instrumental studio albums, he holds several credits as a songwriter.

We stepped inside the Nashville Symphony Schermerhorn Center's open house celebration with family and friends during the Halloween season. We sampled playing a few orchestra instruments and everyone enjoyed top notch entertainment all day long. The Nashville Symphony Hall Choir were as inspiring as ever. We enjoyed their rousing rendition of a haunting Halloween classic. Who can guess the name of the song the choir is singing in this video?

Another visit to the vault for a fun interview and show from our friends HERE COME THE MUMMIES... at another incredibly funky concert in Music City, USA. Check out this funny interview. This was a sold out show with fans ranging from all ages. Some fans carry toilet paper and wrap themselves in it to look like mummies at the show in good fun. What is certain, is that all fans of the band were jolly and grooving at the concert!

Accompanied by beautiful background vocals from the lovely and talented singer/songwriters Benita Hill and Kacey Jones. Enjoy state of the art sound with some of the best food in town !! "My Tennessee Hills" is a true document of American heritage. Loney Hutchins (Sr.) was born into poverty in the Appalachia hills during the 1940's with one foot in Tennessee and the other in Virginia. The struggle of growing up in this part of the world is a theme throughout all of his songs, save for the occasional love ballad, of course. It is of little coincidence Hutchins could see Clinch Mountain from his bedroom window as a young boy. This cultural heritage is inescapable in his music. It's in his blood. Years later, a chance run in with June Carter Cash lead to an audition with husband, Johnny. This landed Hutchins a job working for House of Cash and he eventually became manager of the label's publishing end, assembling the entire catalog into one book and, serving as pitch man for these songs to such luminaries as Chet Atkins, Owen Bradley and, Billy Sherril. He also had some of his own songs cut by both Johnny and Tommy Cash (the latter of which, "You Still Have That Look In Your Eyes" included on his album, recorded for the first time by Hutchins).

Following his years with House of Cash, Hutchins started his own publishing label, Appalachia Music, charting independently on both Cashbox and Billboard. In the 80's, a new calling lead him to do pioneering work in the field of music therapy with head injury sufferers, a field he continues to work in to this day. Having amassed a life time's worth of material, Hutchins finally recorded this new compilation with son, Loney John, a young producer/engineer in Nashville. "My Tennessee Hills" features a cast of musicians that have played with such artists as Charlie Louvin, Will Oldham/Bonnie Prince Billy, Lambchop, Bobby Bare Sr. and, others. "My Tennessee Hills" is a must for any fan of traditional country/bluegrass and a new beginning for a songwriter from another era.
