Before we begin the demonstration it is important that you know areas that are at risk of infection and the signs of an infection.
Areas at risk of infection are your:
• Abdomen
• Your legs and feet
Remember to check your skin everyday so you can see if you have open areas
Signs of infection may include:
• Swelling
• Redness of the skin which can quickly spread
• Feelings of pain
• Feelings of tenderness
• and having fever or chills
It is normal to have a small amount of redness around an open area that is healing. However, if the redness begins to expand this is an emergency.
If you have an infection or think you have an infection, go immediately to:
Your Family Doctor
A Walk in Clinic
Urgent Care Clinic
Or Emergency
